Founded in 2003, the Wanted Ashiqz are an accomplished group of trained, all-male Bollywood dancers who seamlessly fuse Bollywood and hip-hop dance styles along with fearless humor and athletic ability to create spectacular displays of dance and entertainment. The troupe prides itself on its unique ability to merge the art of storytelling with intricate choreography from many different genres of dance.
Under Artistic Director Ashif Gazi, the Wanted Ashiqz have been National Champions in the South Asian competitive dance circuit and are one of the most popular Bollywood dance troupes on the scene, performing at various corporate events, commercial shoots, concerts and weddings all over the United States.
They have placed in numerous intercollegiate and independent dance competitions along the way. Some of their most memorable wins are from 2009 when they became the best Fusion/Bollywood dance team in the nation by winning first place in the Best of the Best dance competition in California and then winning the nationals and becoming the first ever Filmi-Fusion Bollywood America 2010 Champions.
Recently, they became the first ever Bollywood team to not only compete, but to also win 2nd place, along with the best costume, best theme and crowd favorite awards at the prestigious World of Dance, a mainstream Hip-hop competition. They also became the first South Asian Bollywood dance team to win the grand prize at the Kollaboration NY 2011. In 2012, the Wanted Ashiqz added to their awards and accolades by becoming the first ever champions of the Elite 8 Naach Invitational-only dance competition, and once again winning 2nd place and best costume in the World of Dance Hip-hop competition.
Every time the Wanted Ashiqz perform, it’s not for the trophy or the cash prize but for the sheer thrill and entertainment of what really matters, to entertain and win the hearts of the audience!
